Khadya Suraksha Yojna: The Food Security Scheme implemented under the Food Security Act (NFSA) aims to provide food items to all the citizens of the country at affordable rates. This scheme is especially important for those families who are economically weak and need proper nutrition. Under this scheme, the government has made a provision to provide various types of grains like wheat, rice and other food items at subsidized rates.

Recently, the process of adding new names to the Food Security Scheme has been started, so that more and more people can take advantage of this scheme. The process of filling the application form for this has also started. This step has been taken by the government so that food security can be ensured to the needy people and they can get proper nutrition.

Main objective

  • Food items at affordable rates: To provide grains at the rates fixed by the government.
  • Help to economically weaker families: Especially to those families who are living below the poverty line.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than the poverty line.
  • It is mandatory for the applicant to have an Aadhar card.

Application Process

  • Prepare Documents: First of all keep the required documents ready like Aadhar Card, Income Certificate, and if you already have a Ration Card then keep it ready.
  • Apply Online: Fill the online application form by visiting e-Mitra or CSC center.
  • Submit Form: Submit the filled form to the concerned office.
  • Check Status: Check your status after applying.
