‘Griha Aadhar Yojana’ will be given on the 10th of every month, Rs 1500 will be credited

Griha Aadhar Yojana: Several measures have been implemented in Goa to enhance the financial independence and welfare of housewives. The Griha Aadhar Yojana has been introduced to empower women economically in the state. This initiative provides financial support of Rs 1500 to women every month. However, there were reports that some women were not receiving their payments on time under the Griha Aadhar Yojana. In response, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that eligible women’s funds will be credited to their accounts on the 10th of each month.

At a special camp held at Rajiv Kala Mandir in Ponda, the Chief Minister emphasized that no eligible woman would be denied her rights. This camp was organized by the Directorate of Women and Child Development. During the event, several eligible women voiced their concerns about the delayed payments from the Griha Aadhar Scheme. The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that funds are disbursed promptly.

Women receive Rs 1,500 each month

Currently, around 180,000 women in the state benefit from the Rs 1,500 monthly assistance under this scheme. This money is mainly used for purchasing medicines, funding children’s education, and covering household expenses. The documents of many women who attended the camp were verified on-site to prevent any future payment issues.

The Griha Aadhar Yojana was initiated by former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in 2012 to alleviate the impact of inflation. At the camp’s inauguration, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, we have enhanced Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to ensure that assistance is directly deposited into bank accounts.

Today, 40 percent of Goa’s population (over 400,000 people) is covered by some form of government financial assistance scheme. Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar, PMC President Virendra Dhavalikar, Panchayat Director, Women and Child Development Director, District Panchayat members, councilors, sarpanches, and several senior officials were present at the event.

The Chief Minister concluded by stating that the state government is committed to women’s empowerment and will continue to provide them with financial security through such schemes in the future. He directed officials to regularly update the data of all beneficiaries and ensure that no eligible woman faces any difficulties in availing the benefits of the scheme.
