Swara Bhasker Jauhar Remarks Controversy – Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar is once again trending on social media these days. This time the reason is his controversial statement on the Jauhar practice of Rajput queens, which has created anger in Rajput society. Now Karni Sena women’s wing president Kirti Rathod has hit back at this and challenged Swara to question the Halala practice of Islam.
What is the whole matter?
Actually, a video of Swara Bhaskar went viral, in which she was seen calling Jauhar (self-immolation) done by Rajput women ‘cowardice’. This video set social media on fire. However, as the controversy escalated, Swara clarified that her statement had been distorted and that she never called Queen Padmini or any other heroine a coward. But Karni Sena is unhappy with this clarification.
Karni Sena opens front – ‘Read history first’
Karni Sena women’s wing president Kirti Rathod fiercely targeted Swara. He said- “Swara Bhaskar has no idea. She is speaking without doing her homework. The history of Rajput Kshatriyas is glorious. Our revered mother Padmini had committed Jauhar with 16 thousand Kshatriyas, so that the message should go to the Mughals that no matter how hard they try, they cannot defeat the Kshatriyas. This was not cowardice, but the pinnacle of bravery.”

Kirti further said that if Swara has so much courage, then she should question the Halala practice of Islam, which has been described as un-Islamic in the Quran Sharif itself. “Talk about Halala, raise questions on it. Look inside your heart before pointing fingers at the sacrifice of our brave women.”
‘Correct bad language’ – Karni Sena’s warning
Kirti Rathod gave a stern warning to Swara and said, “Swara Bhaskar should improve her language. The kind of cheapness she is showing will not be tolerated. If she insults Hindu Kshatriyas like this, Karni Sena will not forgive.”
Swara’s counterattack – ‘Abuse on true statement’
After the controversy, Swara Bhaskar shared a post on social media, in which she claimed that her video has been edited and presented in a wrong way. She wrote, “I never called Rani Padmavati or any Sati a coward. If people want to abuse me then they can, but at least on correct statements.”
What is history?
Jauhar of Rani Padmini – According to historians, during Alauddin Khilji’s attack on Chittor in 1303, Rani Padmini had committed Jauhar along with 16 thousand other women.
Purpose of Jauhar – This tradition was adopted to avoid humiliation and slavery, and not because of cowardice. Historians’ opinion – Some modern historians consider Jauhar to be the result of social pressure, whereas Rajput society calls it a symbol of bravery and honour.

Ruckus on social media
This entire matter has sparked debate on Twitter and Instagram. Trends like #Swara_Bhaskar #Johar_Insult are on top on Twitter. Many users are posting against Swara, and many are also posting in her support.
After all, what is the truth?
While on one hand Rajput society and Karni Sena are considering Swara’s statement as an insult to historical sentiments, on the other hand Swara is accusing herself of being portrayed as ugly. Now it has to be seen in which direction this controversy goes, and whether Swara will give any further clarification in this matter or there will be a direct clash with Karni Sena.
