UP Police Jobs 2025 : The government of Uttar Pradesh on June 3, 2025, made this major decision for thousands of ex-Agniveers. Horizontal reservation of 20% shall be available for ex-Agniveers in the direct recruitments to all posts within UP Police, whether that be Police Constable, PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary), Fireman, or even Mounted Constable.
A cabinet meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to decide on this. After the meeting, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna mentioned that this is a great empowering step for the youth who have completed four years of service in the Indian armed forces only to seek better career opportunities.
Apart from this reservation, the government also declared the complete relaxation in terms of upper age limit for a period of three years for these candidates. Thus, if the maximum age is 23 for a particular recruitment, Agniveers could apply until they are 26.
This federation empowers the youth who have served under the “Agnipath Scheme”. After military training and experience of merit, these youths would now be able to serve in the police department. This is a boon for both police departments as well as the candidates; disciplined and trained youth would now enlist in police service, while Agniveers would receive strong and stable government jobs.
Clearly, Uttar Pradesh has become the first state here to do such extensive reservations for these Agniveers. Detailed guidelines along with the formal process of application under this newly created reservation policy will soon be announced by the government.
