Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released bumper recruitment for more than 1300 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical) in various departments under Junior Engineer Recruitment 2025 (JE). 1. Age Limit: The correct age of the ‘opportunity’
The age should be between 18 and 30 years.
Reservation: Applicants from OBC, SC, and ST categories are given relaxation in the maximum age limit as per government rules.
Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories get 5 5-year relaxation.
Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates get 3 3-year age relaxation.
The crucial date for calculating age is 1st January 2026.
2. Educational Qualification
It is mandatory for the candidate to have a diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering from any recognized board or university. This qualification ensures that the candidate has the required technical knowledge and skills.
3. Application Fee
The application fee for General and OBC category candidates is ₹100.
SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
Candidates can pay the fee through online mode (such as net banking, credit/debit cards).
4. Selection Process
The selection process will be through a written examination and document verification, which includes the following stages:
Paper-1 (CBT – Computer-Based Test): This is the first stage, in which multiple choice questions (MCQs) will be asked.
Paper-2 (CBT): Candidates who qualify in Paper-1 will be eligible for Paper-2, which is more detailed and subject-specific.
Document Verification (DV): Documents of candidates who qualify in both papers will be verified.
5. Salary
The selected candidates will get a salary package as per the pay matrix of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
