The application process began on October 27, 2025, and candidates can apply online until November 10, 2025. A total of 12 Stenographer positions will be filled under this recruitment process. These appointments are being made to fill vacant positions in various offices under the High Court. Educational Qualifications and Essential Eligibility
For the position of Stenographer, candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognised university. Candidates who have previously worked as a Lower Grade Stenographer in the High Court or other court for at least five years will be exempted from certain eligibility requirements.
Furthermore, candidates with a law degree will be given preference in the selection process. Typing and shorthand speed are also required.
- English Shorthand: 100 words per minute
- English Typing: 40 words per minute
Candidates must have passed the Government Commercial Certificate Examination (GCC) or the GCC-TBC of the MSCE conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Examinations.
Age Limit and Pay Scale
The minimum age for candidates is 21 years, and the maximum age is 43 years.
Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per government regulations.
Selected candidates will receive a salary of ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 per month, as per the Seventh Pay Commission. They will also receive dearness allowance, travel allowance, and other government benefits.
Candidates from all categories will be required to pay an application fee of ₹1,000.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The recruitment process will be conducted in three stages:
- Shorthand Test
- Typing Test
- Interview
In the shorthand test, candidates will be required to dictate and transcribe two English passages.
- Dictation time: 5 minutes
- Transcription time: 30 minutes
In the typing test, candidates will be required to type a 400-word English passage in 10 minutes. The interview round will then assess the candidate’s confidence, communication skills, and general knowledge. The final merit list will be prepared based on the scores obtained in all three stages.
