PM Jan Dhan Yojana 2026: The Central Government operates the PM Jan Dhan Yojana. Through this scheme, the Central Government provides banking facilities to crores of people across the country. Under the PM Jan Dhan Yojana, individuals from economically weaker sections can open bank accounts and receive benefits from government schemes directly in their accounts.

Previously, there were often difficulties in ensuring that funds from government schemes reached the beneficiaries’ accounts directly. However, by leveraging Jan Dhan accounts, Aadhaar, and mobile connectivity, funds can now be transferred directly into bank accounts. The objective is to minimise the role of intermediaries in the process.
