iQOO 16: In the realm of gaming smartphones, iQOO consistently strives to introduce devices that offer more than just fast processors. The company is currently working on its next flagship, the iQOO 16, and a major leak regarding its display has surfaced. According to the leak, the iQOO 16 may feature Samsung’s new M16 OLED material technology and next-generation LEAD display technology.
The device is expected to sport a 6.85-inch 2K OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It is also expected to feature the new Samsung M16 OLED technology, a Q4 gaming chip, and an 8,500mAh battery. Let’s delve into the details.
iQOO 16 Display
Starting with the display, iQOO already offered a powerful, gaming-centric screen on the iQOO 15: a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung M14 LEAD OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. With the iQOO 16, the company aims to further enhance the display technology while keeping the same screen size.
iQOO 16 New LEAD Technology
The standout feature of the iQOO 16’s display isn’t just the 165Hz refresh rate; it is also expected to utilise LEAD technology. This technology reportedly improves light transmission and reduces power consumption.
Interestingly, there is speculation that Apple will use the same M16 and LEAD display technology in its upcoming foldable iPhone Ultra. If both devices adopt this technology, it underscores the significance of Samsung’s new OLED technology.
iQOO 16 New Q4 Chip
According to reports, the iQOO 16 may feature a new Q4 chip designed to deliver superior lighting and ray-tracing effects in mobile games. This chip could enable virtual point light sources and HDR in gaming experiences.
iQOO 16: Snapdragon Processor and 8,500mAh Battery
Reports suggest it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, though the company has not yet officially confirmed it. The phone is also expected to pack a massive 8,500mAh battery and support 100W wired charging.
When will the iQOO 16 launch?
According to reports, the iQOO 16 could launch in China in late September or early October. This means official details about the phone should be revealed soon.
