According to the tipster, the phone may feature a 6.85-inch flat Samsung display supporting 2K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. Let’s take a look at the potential features of the iQOO 16.
iQOO 16 Specification Leaks
According to the leaks, the iQOO 16 is expected to sport a 6.85-inch flat display manufactured by Samsung. The panel is said to offer 2K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. While the screen size and resolution appear similar to those of the iQOO 15, the refresh rate in the new model could be bumped up from 144Hz to 165Hz. This higher refresh rate would benefit gaming and scrolling. In terms of performance, the device is expected to feature Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor. According to a tipster, the model number is SM8975. If this information proves accurate, the iQOO 16 could be among the first smartphones to feature this new Snapdragon flagship platform. There is also talk of including a dedicated display chip to enhance the gaming experience.
The iQOO 16’s design may also change. Leaks suggest that while the screen corner shape and frame design of the engineering unit resemble the current model, the rear camera module could feature a completely new design. The camera module might be housed within a small square in the phone’s top-left corner.
The iQOO 16 could pack a massive 8,500mAh battery. It is also expected to support 100W fast charging and wireless charging. Other anticipated features include 1115-series symmetrical dual speakers and a 0916-series X-axis linear motor. The phone may also come with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Additionally, the smartphone is expected to offer IP68 and IP69 ratings, USB 3.2 connectivity, and an AR coating. The iQOO 16 could launch in China in late September or early October, although the company has not yet announced an official launch date.
