Pre-orders begin on September 12, with both smartphones becoming available starting September 18. If you are planning to buy a new iPhone, the pre-order window is the best time to do so.
iPhone 18 Pro A20 Pro Chip
The most significant upgrade in the iPhone 18 Pro lineup is the new A20 Pro chip. Apple has focused on making this processor more powerful and efficient. This enhancement improves performance across daily tasks, gaming, video editing, photography, and AI-based features.
Additionally, Apple has included a next-generation vapour chamber designed to dissipate heat generated inside the phone more effectively.
iPhone 18 Pro 48MP Variable Aperture Camera
The new models feature a 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera with variable aperture technology. Variable aperture offers greater creative control in smartphone photography.
New Pro controls have also been added to the Camera app, and ‘Photographic Styles’ have been enhanced. Apple has also introduced pro-level improvements to video recording, giving creators more flexibility in shooting and editing.
iPhone 18 Pro, iOS 27, and Apple Intelligence
Alongside hardware upgrades, the software experience has taken a new direction. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max now run on iOS 27 and feature enhanced integration with Apple Intelligence. Integrating AI with Siri aims to transform the iPhone from a smartphone into an intelligent personal hub.
iPhone 18 Pro Smaller Dynamic Island
The design has also changed; the new iPhone Pro models feature a smaller, enhanced Dynamic Island. This makes the front display appear cleaner and more immersive. The iPhone 18 Pro Max boasts the biggest battery-life improvement in iPhone history.
iPhone 18 Pro New Colour Options
Apple has introduced the new Pro models in four distinct colours: Black, Silver, Glacier, and a new Burgundy shade. Burgundy is a new addition to the lineup and is likely to appeal to those seeking something different from the traditional black or silver options.
