iPhone Ultra and iPhone 18 Pro: Apple’s new iPhones always generate strong anticipation. Nowadays, you see Apple phones in the hands of many people. If you are an iPhone enthusiast, you’ll have good news. According to current reports, instead of focusing on the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 at its September event, Apple might prioritise the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Ultra.
However, this information has not been confirmed yet. The iPhone 18 series has been a topic of discussion for quite some time, with numerous leaks surfacing. That said, Apple has not officially confirmed the launch date or revealed how many models will be included in the iPhone 18 series.
The iPhone 18 Pro series and the first foldable iPhone Ultra are likely to be the highlights of Apple’s next major iPhone launch. Significant upgrades, such as a new 2nm processor, improved cameras, and a foldable display, are expected.

When will the iPhone 18 series launch?
Based on past patterns, both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 series launched on September 9. Therefore, it is reasonable to speculate that this year’s launch event could also take place around September 9. Another interesting detail is that, for the first time since 2019, the event might be held in person at Apple Park. Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro models could begin three to four days after the event, while the devices might take up to a week to reach stores.
iPhone 18 Pro Price
This time, the price point might come as a bit of a shock to Apple fans. Reports claim the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro series could be $100 to $300 higher than the iPhone 17 Pro. Since the starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro in India is reported to be ₹1,34,900, the iPhone 18 Pro is estimated to cost around ₹1.50 lakh or more. The base model of the Pro Max could reach approximately ₹1.70 lakh.
Meanwhile, the iPhone Ultra could be significantly more expensive. Reports suggest a potential price of around $1,999—approximately ₹1.90 lakh or higher. If this estimate proves accurate, it could become Apple’s most expensive iPhone to date.

What’s New in the iPhone 18 Pro?
In terms of design, the iPhone 18 Pro series might not look drastically different from previous models. A large rear camera module is expected to remain, while an aluminium body paired with a glass back could facilitate features like wireless charging and MagSafe.
Significant changes could be seen on the front. Reports indicate that Apple might shrink the Dynamic Island and attempt to relocate some Face ID sensors beneath the display, potentially freeing up more screen space for content. There is talk of new colour options such as Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Silver, and Dark Grey.
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a Super Retina XDR OLED display measuring approximately 6.3 inches, while the Pro Max is expected to have a 6.9-inch display. Both models are likely to retain 120Hz ProMotion and LTPO technology, with peak brightness expected to reach around 3,000 nits.
2nm Chip and New Camera System
The iPhone 18 Pro series could bring a major performance upgrade. Both models are expected to be powered by the A20 Pro chip, based on TSMC’s 2nm technology, promising improved performance. The vapour chamber cooling system introduced in the iPhone 17 Pro series is also expected to be retained in the new models.
Significant changes to the camera system are also possible. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is rumoured to feature a 48MP camera with a variable aperture that can adjust between approximately f/1.4 and f/4.0. This could offer greater control over lighting and background blur when taking photos. It is also expected to retain the 48MP ultra-wide and 48MP telephoto cameras, along with 4x optical zoom.
iPhone Ultra
Apple’s first foldable, the iPhone Ultra, could be the standout device of the entire lineup. It may feature a book-style folding design similar to standard foldable phones. When unfolded, the internal screen is expected to offer a 16:9 aspect ratio, enhancing the experience for video viewing and multitasking.
According to reports, the device could measure just 4.5 to 4.8mm in thickness when unfolded and around 9 to 9.5mm when folded. It is rumoured to utilise a titanium and aluminium body along with a “Liquid Metal” hinge. This design aims to enhance the phone’s durability and minimise the visible crease on the screen.
