Infinix Hot 70 Pro: Infinix has been rapidly launching new models in the budget smartphone segment, and the company is now preparing to add another phone to its Hot series. The Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G, which has already debuted in select global markets, is now rumoured to be arriving in India soon. A recent leak has not only revealed its potential launch date but also offered a glimpse of its colour options and the unique “Active Matrix Cube” display.
Reports suggest the Infinix Hot 70 Pro will launch in India during the first week of September in four colour variants. The phone is expected to feature an Active Matrix Cube display, the Dimensity 7100 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. Let’s take a look at the expected features of the Infinix Hot 70 Pro.
India Launch Details
The Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G is expected to launch in India during the first week of September. According to reports, the phone will be available in four colour options: Dive Blue, Mirage Green, Silk Glow Purple, and Thermo Orange. Interestingly, these are the same colours offered in global markets, meaning Indian users can expect the same design choices already available elsewhere.

Active Matrix Cube
Let’s discuss the phone’s most unique feature, which sets it apart from the crowd. Hands-on images reveal a layout resembling a vertically arranged triple-camera setup; however, the third section houses Infinix’s unique “Active Matrix Cube” instead of a conventional camera. This small, customizable display can show notifications, status alerts, and animations.
Display, Processor, and Storage
The global model features a 6.76-inch IPS LCD display and runs on the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. For RAM and storage, it offers options up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Its battery capacity varies by market, ranging from 5,600mAh to 6,000mAh.
Other features include 45W charging support, a 50MP rear camera, an 8MP selfie camera, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. However, if the Indian variant comes with the same battery capacity, users might be slightly disappointed; in this segment, 7,000mAh batteries have become common, and some phones even feature batteries up to 10,000mAh.

Competition
Interestingly, the same Dimensity 7100 chipset is used in the Infinix Note Edge, which is already available in India. The Note Edge features a sharp 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a large 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 13MP selfie camera, and a slim 7.2mm profile.
It runs on XOS 16 (based on Android 16) and includes dual JBL-tuned speakers, although its IP65 rating is slightly lower than that of the Hot 70 Pro. The Note Edge launched in India in February at ₹21,999, but its price has since risen to ₹28,999. Consequently, if the Hot 70 Pro launches at a price point close to the Note Edge, it could become an interesting contest.
