IndiGo Lite: Good news flight passengers. Indigo, a private airline, has introduced a new fare option called Indigo Lite, providing passengers with the opportunity to travel at lower costs. With this option, passengers are allowed a cabin baggage limit of 7 kg and the airline determines the seating arrangement. This is beneficial for travelers carrying light items like laptops or small bags within the weight limit, enabling them to carry their bags in the cabin.
Here are the key points about Indigo Lite
– Booking for travel starting July 15th is now open, with bookings starting on July 1st.
– This fare option is accessible through the airline’s direct booking platforms for all non-stop domestic and international routes.
– Passengers booking Indigo Lite tickets can still earn and use Indigo’s loyalty points.

Passengers flying with IndiGo can opt for additional services such as checked baggage, preferred seating, meals, and priority services for an extra charge. IndiGo Airlines offers four fare categories: Lite, Saver, Flexi Plus, and UpFront, with UpFront being the most expensive but offering various premium services.
Indian airlines, including IndiGo, have faced challenges recently due to rising global crude oil prices caused by tensions in Iran, leading to increased aviation turbine fuel costs. Furthermore, issues like airspace closures and extended flight routes due to regional conflicts have added to the airlines’ operational difficulties. Tough competition in the domestic market has also impacted IndiGo’s operations. Currently, IndiGo operates a large fleet of more than 440 aircraft, conducting over 2,100 daily flights that connect over 95 domestic and 40 international destinations.

The scheme will be applicable on non-stop flights
The “IndiGo Lite” fare will be available exclusively through IndiGo’s direct channels (website, mobile application, and contact center). It will be applicable only for non-stop, i.e., direct flights on both domestic and international routes , whether one-way, round-trip, or multi-city. Connecting flights will not be applicable.
