Train Accident- Three Coaches of Ujjain Express Derailed, What is the status of passengers?

Preliminary investigations have indicated that the train’s brakes failed during routine maintenance, which led to the derailment. Several concerns have been raised regarding the train’s movement.

Train Accident: There is a major train accident happened in India. Train accidents also occurred in Sasaram and Ratlam. Three coaches of the Ujjain Express train derailed in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. The incident took place during a shunting operation close to the Yoga Nagari railway station in Rishikesh. According to Indian Railways, three coaches of the Ujjain Express went off the tracks.

Train Accident in Uttarakhand

The most important and comforting news about this incident is that there were no passengers on the train at the time of the accident. As a result, a significant disaster was avoided, and there were no reports of loss of life or property. Railway officials arrived at the scene after being informed about the incident and evaluated the situation. This event reportedly occurred around 9:30 pm on Monday night.

Thankfully, there were no passengers aboard the train when the accident happened. It is worth mentioning that train accidents have been increasingly reported in recent days. On Monday, a train caught fire in Sasaram, and earlier on Sunday, a fire broke out in the Rajdhani Express in Madhya Pradesh.

The accident was caused by brake failure

Preliminary investigations have indicated that the train’s brakes failed during routine maintenance, which led to the derailment. Several concerns have been raised regarding the train’s movement. It has been claimed that senior railway officials did not arrive at the scene for two and a half hours. After the accident, a large crowd gathered on the tracks. Personnel from the Government Railway Police (GRP) took control and dispersed the crowd from the area. The railway department has initiated an investigation, stating that the matter is currently under review.

Earlier on Monday itself, a train caught fire at Sasaram railway station at 6 am. According to the information, the sudden fire in the passenger train going from Sasaram to Patna via Ara created panic among the passengers sitting on the platform and in the train. People started running here and there in no time. However, the fire was later brought under control.

In another incident on Sunday, a coach of Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express (12431) caught fire. This incident happened near Alot station in Ratlam district. There were 68 passengers in the coach which caught fire. However, there were no casualties in this too.
