Heavy Rain Alert: The monsoon has arrived in some areas, and pre-monsoon rain is causing problems in others, leaving everyone concerned. There are many areas where the heat is making people sweat. In some cities, the temperature has crossed 42 degrees Celsius. After midnight, rain in the plains of western UP and Uttarakhand brought relief from the heat.
Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms was recorded in some areas of Bihar and Jharkhand, bringing relief from the scorching heat. On the other hand, monsoon clouds move quickly. It is moving towards Maharashtra, Karnataka and most parts of Telangana. Monsoon rains have created problems in many areas of these states. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in many areas of the country.
Alert of heavy rain in these areas
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a warning has been issued of heavy rains with thunderstorms at sporadic places in Kerala on May 31, June 1 and 2. A red alert has been issued due to the possibility of heavy rains in eight districts of the state: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Heavy rains are also expected in six districts: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram.
According to the IMD, thunderstorms and rain are expected in all parts of the country. Additionally, deep pressure is forming in the northwestern parts of the Bay of Bengal today. A warning has been issued for heavy rains in the northeastern states and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till May 31.
The possibility of heavy rains in these states
According to the IMD, heavy rains are expected at many places in the Konkan and Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, as well as coastal and south interior Karnataka. A warning has been issued for heavy rainfall in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
Apart from these, heavy rains can also occur in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, as well as in Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, and East Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, a warning has been issued for light to moderate rainfall in Vidarbha, Telangana, and Kerala, with heavy rainfall at one or two places. Heavy rains can occur in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, the interior of Karnataka, Odisha, and West Bengal.
