New Delhi: Northwest India has been experiencing heavy rainfall lately, which has also led to a drop in the temperature level. Last week, the Northwest received 102 per cent more rainfall than usual. However, the monsoon has not yet entered all the areas. Regarding the mountains, the landslides caused by continuous rain are proving fatal for the people.
At many places, the roads are blocked due to falling rocks, causing difficulties for passersby. Apart from this, rivers, drains, ponds and canals are also in spate here. The water level is increasing. Monsoon rains are also occurring in South India and Northeast states. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains in various parts of the country. Below is an overview of the weather in multiple areas.
Rain in Delhi NCR
According to IMD, a round of rain is expected in Delhi-NCR from Friday evening. These parts are expected to remain partially cloudy throughout the day. There may be light to very light rain with thunder and lightning during the evening and night. The maximum temperature is likely to be 37°C, and the minimum temperature is expected to be 27 °C.
The route of the Char Dham pilgrims was disrupted.
Landslides are being seen due to torrential rains in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. Due to this, the Char Dham pilgrims have faced difficulties. Pilgrims returning from Kedarnath are being evacuated with the help of ropes. The journey to Kailash and Purnagiri Dham has been disrupted at regular intervals. The road was blocked for five hours due to debris from a mountain slide on the Gaurikund road in Rudraprayag.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in various places in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, advising people to exercise caution. There may be rain in many areas of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

IMD has issued a rain warning in many parts of Kerala, Karnataka and Goa. Apart from these, heavy rains are also expected in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. Rains are also expected in Sikkim, Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram. Heavy rains are also likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Puducherry. Keeping in mind the possibility of lightning, people have been advised not to go to the outskirts.
