New Delhi: The NDA’s seat-sharing agreement for the Bihar Assembly elections has finally been finalised. This will be the first time the BJP and JDU will contest as twins within the NDA, as both parties have agreed to an equal number of seats. The Lok Janshakti Party has also been placated by the BJP and JDU by giving them 29 seats.

It was once suspected that LJP national president Chirag Paswan might leave the NDA, but he was persuaded at the last minute. Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustan Awam Morcha will contest six seats this time. Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha has also been allocated six seats. Sources indicate that Chirag Paswan managed to secure his preferred three seats.

How many seats will the BJP and JDU win?

Several rounds of meetings were held after the Bihar Assembly election dates were announced, but the results were inconclusive. The NDA’s seat-sharing agreement was officially announced on Sunday. This time, the BJP won the seat-sharing agreement in Bihar. For the first time, it will contest on an equal number of seats as the JDU.

The BJP will contest on 101 seats and the JDU on 101. Dharmendra Pradhan announced this after the seat-sharing formula was finalised. He stated that all NDA allies had completed the seat-sharing process amicably. He stated that all NDA parties and leaders welcome this agreement. Bihar is ready for an NDA government once again.

Chirag and Manjhi had stalled the agreement.

The seat-sharing formula was stalled by Hindustan Awam Morcha chief Jitan Ram Manjhi and Lok Janshakti Party president Chirag Paswan. Manjhi consistently demanded 15 seats, while Chirag Paswan demanded 40. Ultimately, Manjhi agreed to 6 seats and Chirag Paswan to 29.
