According to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure system may cause heavy rainfall across many states in South India on February 21 and 22. Some time ago, it seemed winter was slowly leaving, and summer had begun. However, the rain may once again intensify the cold. Meanwhile, a rise in temperatures is predicted in northwest India.
Heavy Rain Alert in South India
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in some areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe on February 21 and 22. Additionally, the Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on February 20. Additionally, strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms are expected in the southern interior and coastal regions of Karnataka between February 21 and 24. The Meteorological Department predicts that Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra will also experience generally dry weather for the next 5-7 days.
Snowfall Warning in These States
According to the Meteorological Department, snowfall is also expected in the mountains. The IMD says that snowfall and rain are likely in isolated parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh between February 22 and 24.
Rain Warning in These States
The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain in southern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala on February 21 and 22. In eastern India, light to moderate rain with lightning is possible in parts of West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand on February 23 and 24. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is likely in Uttarakhand on February 22. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain with thunder in Chhattisgarh and Odisha during 23-24 February.
