New Delhi: The weather is rapidly changing across much of India. While snowfall is being witnessed in the hilly areas, rain is lashing parts of southern India. The rain has made the weather extremely rough, with roads flooded at various places, causing difficulties for pedestrians.

A cold wave is sweeping through Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, bordering Delhi, raising the possibility of worsening conditions. Blistering cold and increased fog are also predicted. Meanwhile, Cyclone Ditwa, with a speed of 100 km/h, could pose a threat to people. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in various parts of the country. These areas will receive heavy rainfall.

According to the Meteorological Department, a new Cyclone Ditwa, is expected to make landfall in South India. Due to its landfall, an alert has been issued in Tamil Nadu for torrential rains accompanied by winds and storms of up to 100 km/h. Winds of 60 to 100kilometress per hour are expected in various areas of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Puducherry.

A yellow alert has been issued for uprooting trees and heavy rainfall in these areas. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Cyclone Ditwa is expected to move north-northwestward across the Sri Lankan coast and the adjacent Bay of Bengal.

Severe Cold in the Mountains

According to the Meteorological Department, Kashmir is experiencing its coldest November since 2007. In Himachal Pradesh, the cold has also brought life to a standstill, making life difficult for people.

Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 4.5 degrees Celsius. The continuous drop in temperatures in Kashmir is also making life difficult. The white snow falling from the sky has put the brakes on life in the valleys. Temperatures are dropping significantly in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The northeastern states are also experiencing severe cold. The snowfall has made walking impossible.
