Monsoon Alert: The monsoon has become fully active once again across the country. There are many states in the country where heavy rains have caused havoc. Especially in the hilly areas, flooding has occurred due to continuous heavy rains. It is raining intermittently in Delhi-NCR. Life is being severely affected by the rain. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding heavy rains, strong winds and storms in different parts of the country. In view of heavy rains in Punjab, schools and colleges have been declared closed. While people have found relief from the heat due to rain, excessive rain in many places has disappointed farmers greatly.

The Meteorological Department estimates that the period of heavy rains will continue in many states of the country, including North-West India, for the next 40 hours. According to IMD, heavy rains can be seen in many other areas, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Apart from this, thunderstorms and light rain can also be observed in some areas.

Rain warning in these states for the next 48 hours

Rainfall is going to continue in many states of the country for the next 48 hours. According to the forecast of the India Meteorological Department, heavy to heavy rains can be seen in some areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and UP. Apart from this, moderate rain is also being observed in many places. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in some areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Apart from this, heavy rains are going to continue in many states, including Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Weather condition in Delhi – NCR

According to the IMD, Delhi is expected to experience intermittent rainfall for the next four days. Additionally, there is a possibility of strong winds and thunderstorms.

According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall is expected to continue in Uttarakhand and eastern Rajasthan until September 7. Additionally, light rain is expected in western Rajasthan from September 5 to 7. According to the IMD, heavy rain is likely at some places in the Gujarat region on September 4 and 5. Heavy rain is expected to occur at some places in Gujarat and Central Maharashtra over the next 7 days.

The IMD has forecast heavy rain in eastern Madhya Pradesh until September 6. Apart from this, heavy rain is expected in Jharkhand and Odisha until September 5.
