Bread
Gram Flour (Besan)
Mustard Seeds (Rai)
Curry Leaves
Finely Chopped Green Chilies
Turmeric Powder
Black Pepper Powder
Red Chili Powder
Finely Chopped Onions
How to Make Dahi Bread
First, pour the yogurt into a bowl and mix it thoroughly. Now, add the gram flour (besan) to the yogurt mixture. Then, add the turmeric powder, black pepper powder, red chili powder, and salt (to taste), and mix everything together very well.
Next, heat some ghee in a small pan. Add the mustard seeds, finely chopped green chilies, curry leaves, and finely chopped onions, and let them splutter to prepare the tempering (tadka).
Now, pour this tempering mixture into the gram flour and yogurt paste and mix it in. At this stage, add the bread slices to the mixture. Coat each slice thoroughly with the paste, ensuring both sides of the bread are well covered.
Now, apply some butter or ghee to a griddle (tava) and toast the bread slices properly on both sides until golden brown.
Your Dahi Bread is now ready! Serve it hot, accompanied by green chutney.
