Monsoon Update:  The Meteorological Department has issued alerts regarding rain and heat for various states across the country. On one hand, North India remains under the grip of a severe heatwave, while alerts for heavy rainfall and storms have been issued for South and Northeast India. According to the latest weather bulletin from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is likely over Northeast India, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim over the next 6–7 days.

The monsoon has now covered the entire Andaman and Nicobar archipelago. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is expected to reach Kerala by May 26. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places across Assam and Meghalaya on the 21st and 22nd.
