Kedarnath Shocker: A very sad and worrying news is coming from Uttarakhand, which has shaken everyone. A helicopter has crashed near Kedarnath and all 6 people on board are feared dead.

The accident happened early in the morning!

This accident happened around 5:24 am on Sunday, when this helicopter of Aryan Aviation was flying to Kedarnath. It is being told that this accident happened due to bad weather. The helicopter took off from Dehradun and suddenly went missing between Trijuginarayan and Gaurikund. As soon as the information was received, NDRF and SDRF teams immediately reached the spot and rescue operation has been started.

There are reports of 6 people on board in the accident, including the pilot. Although the deaths have not been officially confirmed yet, it is feared that no one would have survived.

Third accident in a month, why?

It is even more worrying that this is the third incident of helicopter crash in Uttarakhand in the last one month.

7 June: A helicopter going to Kedarnath had to make an emergency landing on the highway in Rudraprayag district after a technical fault. Fortunately, five pilgrims and a pilot on board narrowly escaped. Imagine, a helicopter was standing in the middle of the highway and so close to residential areas that even a car got damaged!

17 May: A heli ambulance from Rishikesh AIIMS also crashed near the Kedarnath helipad. The doctor, pilot and another person on board also escaped safely.

The question arises whether there is any major negligence behind these accidents or is the hilly and unpredictable weather of Uttarakhand causing this?

Officials and CM Dhami also expressed grief

ADG Law and Order of Uttarakhand, Dr. V. Murugeshan has confirmed the accident and said that detailed information is awaited. At the same time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed grief over ‘X’ and said that SDRF, local administration and other rescue teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations. He has prayed to Baba Kedar for the safety of all the passengers.

We will all pray that all those who were on board are safe. But these accidents are constantly raising the question that how many more stringent steps are needed regarding air safety, especially in hilly and sensitive areas. Should the government conduct a thorough investigation of these accidents and take concrete steps to prevent such incidents in future?
