Monsoon Update: All the cities across the country, including the capital Delhi, are experiencing scorching heat these days. The heat is such that the temperature is recorded above 40 degrees Celsius, which causes people to sweat. Late in the evening, a storm in many areas of western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand brought much-needed relief from the scorching heat.
The period of strong winds continued till late at night, due to which there was a slight drop in temperature. On the other hand, the weather became pleasant due to the storm and drizzle in the Bay of Bengal yesterday. Rain is possible in many areas from the Northeast to South India. There is a possibility of heavy rain in these areas
The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rain in many regions of India, where people have also been asked to be cautious. According to the IMD, rain is possible in many places in Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura. Also, rain may continue in many places in Nagaland, Arunachal, Manipur and Puducherry.
Apart from these, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in many places in coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep. There is also a possibility of rain with thunder and thunderstorms in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. Winds can blow at 40 to 50 kilometres per hour in these areas.

According to the Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon is advancing in many parts of the southern part of Bengal, the south of the Andaman Sea, the Nicobar Islands and North Andaman today. There is a possibility of lightning and thunderstorms in South Peninsular India and adjoining Central India for the next 4 days.
Heavy rain may occur at different places in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu during the next 3 days. There is a possibility of severe heat in Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal from May 14 to May 15, 2025.
