Independents were ahead in the district panchayat elections
In the 2021 district panchayat elections, the number of independent winners exceeded that of the BJP and SP candidates. Voting was held on 3048 seats of the district panchayat in UP. In this, SP won 759 seats. The BJP secured 768 seats, the BSP 319, the Congress 59, and the SP approximately 64 seats.
