Cloud Burst in Chashoti: Heavy rains are wreaking havoc in most states of the country at this time. Continuous rains have caused devastation in many states. Meanwhile, a cloudburst in the Chashoti area of Kishtwar, Jammu, on August 14 has caused heavy damage. Many people are feared dead in this natural disaster. According to the initial information coming out, 10 people died in this accident. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy loss. Relief and rescue efforts are underway at the site. After the cloudburst, the area has been flooded.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that after receiving a message about a cloudburst from the Leader of Opposition of Jammu and Kashmir and local MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma, he spoke to Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma. At present, the relief and rescue team has reached the spot and started the rescue operation.

The cloudburst incident has occurred on a large scale, with the possibility of significant loss of life. Regarding the flash flood in the Chashoti area of Kishtwar, Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh said, “I received a call from the Leader of Opposition of Jammu and Kashmir and local MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma that there has been a massive cloudburst in his area. This is also the route of the popular Machail Mata Yatra, which starts from here. The cloudburst has happened on a huge scale, which can lead to a large number of casualties. We immediately contacted the district officials, who were also shocked, as it had surprised everyone.

On the other hand, the Srinagar Meteorological Centre has stated that heavy rains are expected in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir over the next 4-6 hours. Additionally, lightning and thunder are also expected. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains may occur for a short time in Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Srinagar, some places in Ganderbal, Budgam, Poonch, and the hilly areas, as well as the Qazigund-Banihal-Ramban axis.
