Jammu & Kashmir Bus Tragedy: A terrible accident happened in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. On Tuesday morning, a private bus full of passengers suddenly left the road and fell into a deep ditch. In this tragic accident, four innocent people lost their lives, and more than forty people were severely injured.
How did this accident happen?
According to reports, this unfortunate bus was going from Ghani village to Mendhar. Around 9:30 in the morning, when the bus reached near Sangra in the Mankot area, the driver probably lost control of the bus, and it fell straight into the ditch. There was a lot of screaming, and the scene was very horrific.
Who were the dead?
According to the information given by the officers, the dead include 45-year-old Mohammad Majeed of Ghani village, 55-year-old Shakeela Begum and 60-year-old Noor Hussain of Kasbalari. The sad thing is that Mohammad Majeed had come to his village on leave. Rescuers found Hussain and Majeed dead on the spot. Out of the injured, eight are said to be very critical.
Ashfaq Chaudhary, a senior doctor of Mendhar, said that five of the nine seriously injured people have been immediately sent to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu for better treatment.
Ambulances rushed to help.
The doctor also said that as soon as he got the news of this accident, he immediately sent all 15 ambulances to the spot. Police, CRPF, army and villagers helped a lot in removing the injured from the ditch.
What does the government have to say?
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed deep grief over this tragic incident. He said that what happened in Poonch is very sad, and he is with the families of the deceased in this difficult time. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has also said that it will provide all possible help to the victims of this accident and their families. Minister Javed Ahmed Rana wrote on social media that he is very saddened by this bad news. He has spoken to the Commissioner of Jammu and ordered immediate help for the injured, including taking those who were more serious to GMC Jammu by helicopter.
Omar Abdullah also expressed his condolences on social media. He said that he had instructed the officers to provide the best possible treatment to the injured and to provide them with all possible help. He has also asked Minister Javed Rana to visit the spot and review the relief work.
