Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: While the dates for the Bihar Assembly elections haven’t been announced yet, excitement is already building. The Election Commission could announce the dates any time after the first week of October. Mayawati, along with the NDA and the Grand Alliance, is also busy preparing for the elections.
BSP chief Mayawati has also announced her candidates. In this regard, she has surpassed the NDA and the Grand Alliance. The Bahujan Samaj Party has created a stir by announcing its candidates for three assembly constituencies. The party has finalised its candidates for key seats like Bhabua, Mohania, and Ramgarh. All eyes are on the Bihar elections.
Which seats have the candidates announced?
BSP supremo Mayawati has fielded Vikas Singh alias Lallu Patel from the Bhabua constituency. Bhojpuri singer Om Prakash Deewana has been fielded from the Mohania (reserved) constituency. In addition, the party surprised everyone by giving a ticket to Satish Yadav, also known as Pintu Yadav, for the Ramgarh seat. He is the son of former Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA Ambika Yadav.
Mayawati had previously failed to open her account.
The BSP was eliminated from the last Bihar Assembly elections. The party failed to win a single seat in both 2010 and 2015. In the 2020 elections, the BSP allied with the RLSP and other parties and won the S seat.
In the 2000 Assembly elections, the BSP won the most seats, winning five. In subsequent elections, the number of seats gradually declined. The BSP has announced that it will contest this year’s Assembly elections alone.
