After the earthquake, tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR this morning, andEarthearth shook in Siwan, Bihar. According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake’s intensity in Siwan was measured at 4.0 on the Richter scale, equal to the earthquake in Delhi.

As soon as the earthquake tremors were felt, the people of Siwan panicked. People ran out of their homes and into open fields. Many people said that they thought as if their hearts were shaking violently. People started alerting their family members and running to safe places carrying children in their arms. Many people remained outside their homes for a long time due to fear of aftershocks.
Tremors were felt in Delhi too.
Today, strong earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR, too. The intensity of the quake in Delhi was also measured at 4.0. The epicentre of Delhi was at a depth of 5 kilometres from the ground near Delhi.

Prime Minister’s appeal
After earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the people to remain calm and follow safety precautions. He said that officials were monitoring the situation.
