Hyundai Bayon Level 2 ADAS with 23 Functions – Hyundai is placing a strong emphasis on safety and technology in its new SUV, the Bayon. The company has revealed details regarding the SUV’s safety features, which include a Level 2 Pro ADAS system with 23 functions, six airbags, and a body constructed using 69% high-strength steel. The Hyundai Bayon is set to launch in India on October 26, 2026, and will come equipped with over 35 standard safety features. Let’s take a closer look at the details.

Hyundai Bayon Safety

The Hyundai Bayon is built on the company’s ‘Global K Enhanced’ platform. According to Hyundai, the SUV has been developed with a focus on achieving a 5-star safety rating for the Indian market. Approximately 69% of the vehicle’s body is composed of advanced, multi-grade high-strength steel.

This includes various steel grades such as Hot-Stamped steel, Ultra-High-Strength Steel (UHSS), Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS), and High-Strength Steel (HSS). Hot-stamped steel has been utilized in key areas, including the front apron, dashboard, rear floor, and side reinforcements. The rear floor side members have also been reinforced for added strength. Furthermore, the SUV features a dual-box construction, multiple load paths, and a ring-type body structure.

6 Airbags

Six airbags will come as standard across all variants of the Hyundai Bayon, ensuring that safety is consistent regardless of the trim level chosen. Additionally, features such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC) are included as standard. Hill-Start Assist, in particular, helps prevent the vehicle from rolling backward when starting on an incline.

The SUV also includes a high-line Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a rollover sensor, and an Emergency Stop Signal. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System alerts the driver if the air pressure in any tyre drops below the recommended level. Additionally, it will feature three-point seatbelts, seatbelt reminders, ISOFIX child seat mounts, rear parking sensors, central locking, a burglar alarm, and a headlamp escort function.

23-Function Level 2 Pro ADAS

The most notable safety feature of the Hyundai Bayon is the Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS system, which includes a total of 23 driver-assistance functions. This system utilizes three radars and 12 parking sensors.

Its Forward Collision Warning system can alert the driver if there is a risk of a collision with another vehicle or object ahead. It also includes features such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist.

Highway Driving Assist and 360-Degree Camera

The vehicle is equipped with Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Following Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. It also features cruise control integrated with the navigation system. When reversing, the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist help detect vehicles approaching from the rear. Additionally, the Safe Exit Warning provides alerts about approaching traffic before a vehicle door is opened.

1.5-Litre Petrol Engine and Gearbox Options

The Hyundai Bayon is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder MPi petrol engine, which generates 115 PS of power and 143.8 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox and an IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission).

Bookings and Deliveries

The Hyundai Bayon will be offered in a total of 10 exterior colors. These include single-tone options such as Titanium Black, Classy Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Golden Bronze, and Ecotronic Grey. Furthermore, dual-tone options are available for Atlas White and Fiery Red, while matte finish options are offered for Titanium Black and Classy Blue.

The company has commenced bookings for the SUV. People can book it by paying Rs 11,000 through a Hyundai dealership or the company’s website. Deliveries are expected to begin during this festive season. However, the company will reveal the complete list of variants and pricing details at the time of launch.
