Hyundai Bayon: The Hyundai Bayon has been a topic of constant discussion in the Indian market for some time now. For several weeks, the company has been revealing various aspects of this new SUV through teasers. While previous teasers showcased specific sections of the car, the latest one has largely clarified the details of its rear design.

The Bayon’s design appears quite distinct from existing Hyundai SUVs, particularly regarding its lighting setup. It is expected to feature the new ‘H-Edge’ rear lighting design, a premium cabin, Level 2 ADAS, and generative AI capabilities. The SUV may also offer a factory-fitted CNG option alongside the 1.5-litre petrol engine.

Hyundai Bayon Rear Design

The new teaser reveals the Hyundai Bayon’s full silhouette and its rear design. Previous spy shots and videos had already indicated that the company would adopt a unique layout for the tail lamps rather than a conventional placement.

The rear of the Bayon will feature Hyundai’s ‘H-Edge’ lighting design, echoing the theme used at the front. However, the tail lamps themselves will be positioned lower down. Additionally, a slim LED strip is expected to appear just above the rear bumper—a detail that sets this SUV’s rear profile apart from other Hyundai models. Such a lighting setup is currently a rarity among SUVs in India.

While the exact positioning of the reverse lamp isn’t entirely clear from the teaser, it is speculated that Hyundai might place it similarly to the Venue. Other visible rear elements include an integrated roof spoiler with a stop lamp, a shark-fin antenna, the Hyundai logo on the tailgate, and the ‘Bayon’ badge positioned below.

Hyundai Bayon Cabin

Although an official teaser for the Hyundai Bayon’s interior has not yet been released, available details suggest a grey and black cabin theme. Its design may bear some resemblance to the new venue. It is also expected to feature Hyundai’s new steering wheel, which has a Morse code-inspired design that incorporates four dots.

The dashboard’s standout feature is likely its curved display setup, which will house a touchscreen infotainment system on one side and a digital driver display on the other. Both screens are expected to be similar in size and may feature a new user interface.

In terms of technology, the Bayon promises to be exceptional; it is expected to be Hyundai’s first SUV to offer a ‘Live Generative AI’ feature—a technology that has recently been seen in the Kia Sorento.

Hyundai Bayon Premium Features

Regarding features, Hyundai is preparing to offer a comprehensive package of premium comforts. The SUV is expected to come equipped with electrically adjustable and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, an auto-dimming IRVM, and automatic climate control.

Additionally, it may include Level 2 ADAS, providing the driver with various safety functions during highway driving. The safety package will also encompass features such as six airbags, parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

Hyundai Bayon Engine Options

As for the engine, the Hyundai Bayon is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It may be offered with both manual and IVT gearbox options, giving customers a choice between a traditional manual transmission and the convenience of an automatic-like driving experience.

Notably, Hyundai is preparing to offer a factory-fitted CNG option instead of a diesel engine. The CNG version will feature an underbody CNG tank and is likely to be available exclusively with a manual transmission.
