House Tax Rules: Big news for common people. Living in Uttar Pradesh and paying property tax annually, this update will interest you. Efforts are being made to streamline and digitalize property tax services in Uttar Pradesh by consolidating the systems of different municipal bodies onto one unified platform.

The new system aims to centralize property tax services from various municipal bodies in Uttar Pradesh into the e-Nagar Seva portal. This will provide property owners with a single digital platform to access all house tax-related information, including services like property mutation, tax assessment, and payments.

Various municipal services will also be accessible in one location

Beyond just property tax, plans are in place to expand the e-Nagar Seva portal to include other municipal services such as birth and death certificates, trade licenses, water and sewer connections, and other essential services. The advantages for the public will include the convenience of paying property tax online from home, conducting mutation processes digitally, creating digital property records, accessing tax information on a single platform, and potentially reducing visits to municipal offices.

Immediate transfer of records

In an order sent on September 4th by Anuj Kumar Jha, Director of the Directorate of Local Bodies, to all municipal commissioners, municipal corporations, and municipal councils’ executive officers, it has been stated that the bodies should discontinue the separate online property tax software and that related records, data, and service information should be operated through the integrated system of the e-Nagar Seva Portal.

The Municipal Corporation is currently in the process of data transfer, with 40 days’ worth of data remaining. Once this work is complete, the e-city service portal will be operational. Services related to property tax, name transfers, water tax, and sewer tax will be integrated into this new portal, says Ashok Kumar Singh, Chief Tax Assessment Officer, Municipal Corporation., Citizens should also be made aware that they too will use the integrated system of the e-Nagar Seva Portal.
