Heavy Rain Alert: Monsoon rains are being witnessed across several states in the country. However, people in the Delhi-NCR region are still grappling with humid, sultry weather. The monsoon remains active in many parts of India, with heavy rains and flooding causing significant distress in some states. For the coming days, the Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy rain with thunderstorms in Delhi, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and other states.
According to the Meteorological Department, alerts for rain at various locations in Bihar have been issued for August 22–24, with heavy rainfall predicted between August 22 and 25. An alert for moderate to heavy rainfall has also been issued for Jharkhand from August 22 to 26.
Warning of Heavy Rain and Storms in 24 States
The Meteorological Department has issued rain warnings for 24 states across the country for August 22. Warnings for rain and storms have been issued for states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. Strong winds reaching speeds of up to 85 km/h are also predicted during this period.
Rainfall in Uttar Pradesh
According to the IMD, rainfall is likely at several places in Eastern Uttar Pradesh between August 24 and 26.
Rain Warning for Uttarakhand until August 26
Rain and thunderstorms are predicted across almost the entire state of Uttarakhand from August 20 to 26, with the possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas.
Rainfall in Himachal Pradesh
Warnings for rain and heavy rainfall have been issued for most parts of Himachal Pradesh up to August 22. However, rainfall is expected to decrease slightly between August 23 and 26, with only scattered showers likely. Rain Expected in Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, a warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued for Delhi on August 22. Strong wind gusts reaching speeds of 40 to 50 km/h are likely during this period.
Rain Expected in Bihar
A rain alert has been issued for several districts in Bihar. Warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms have been issued for districts including West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Bhojpur, Buxar, Patna, Gaya, Jehanabad, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, and Madhubani. Stormy winds blowing at speeds of 55 to 60 km/h are expected during this time.
Rain Expected in Rajasthan
A rain alert has been issued for several districts in Rajasthan for August 22. Warnings for moderate to heavy rainfall have been issued for Sri Ganganagar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Jaipur, Udaipur, Churu, Baran, Sawai Madhopur, Bundi, Kota, Dausa, Bharatpur, Barmer, Bhilwara, Jaisalmer, Alwar, Jhalawar, and Jalore.
