Bathing is a part of our daily routine. Bathing every day is very important for good health. Some people feel fresh by bathing early in the morning, while some bathe at night and sleep, but should you bathe every day? Dr. Rosalind Simpson, a medical skin expert at Nottingham University, told about this in a conversation with The Guardian. She also gave information about one of her studies, which describes the disadvantages of taking a daily shower.

Dr. Simpson said that earlier bathing every day was considered a problem. It was said that frequent bathing can disturb the natural balance of the skin, which can eliminate the essential oils and beneficial bacteria that protect it. It was also said that frequent bathing can make the skin dry, which can cause cracks. Due to this, harmful bacteria and allergies can enter and cause infection, eczema and psoriasis.

Shocking Revelation in New Study

Dr. Simpson says that the longer you stay in water, the drier your skin can become, no matter how often you bathe. It is better to bathe for a shorter period of time and in cold water. Apart from this, he also listed ingredients such as methylisothiazolinone, methylchloroisothiazolinone, sulfates and parabens, which are toxic and can cause irritation in people. To avoid this, he advised using an emollient cream instead of soap for washing.

 Showering Every Day

Dr. Simpson and his team conducted this study on 438 eczema sufferers. He told The Guardian that the study divided the participants into two groups. One who bathed daily and the other who showered only a few times a week. This study found that there was no significant difference in the dryness of the skin or symptoms of eczema in the people of both the groups. The study said that daily bathing is not related to skin dryness, it is not good only for people with eczema.
