Xiaomi 16 Series: What is the most talked about thing in the tech world right now? That’s right – the new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. And the biggest thing is that leaks and rumors are constantly saying that the Xiaomi 16 series will be the first smartphone in the world to be launched with this next-gen processor. This means that Xiaomi will again continue its tradition in which it always enters the market first with Qualcomm’s new and powerful chip.
First of all, it has been heard that Qualcomm CEO, Cristiano Amon, himself has indirectly confirmed that Xiaomi will be the first brand to launch a phone with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Talking about the official event, Qualcomm will hold its annual Snapdragon Summit in late September 2025. Shortly after that, the launch of Xiaomi 16 series is expected in China, i.e. late September or early October 2025. This timeline is also interesting because the rest of the big flagships like Samsung Galaxy S26 series are expected in early 2026. Meaning Xiaomi is again preparing to come out ahead of everyone.
Now the most famous name in the world of leaks “Digital Chat Station” is also repeatedly saying that phones like Xiaomi 16, Honor Magic 8 series and iQOO 15 are in the testing phase and are in the pre-launch stage with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. But among all these, the name of Xiaomi 16 comes first.
If you look a little behind, the precedent also points in this direction. Last year, Xiaomi 15 series was the first to introduce Snapdragon 8 Elite (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3). And now it seems that Xiaomi 16 series is also going to break the same record, with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
Some benchmark reports have also shown the Red Magic 11 Pro with this chipset, but the consensus of the leaks is clear – Xiaomi 16 series will have the first official smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
