Design and Build: Sleek But Strong

Although it is slightly chunky at 199g, the Vivo Y19 5G isn’t overly thick with its 8.19mm thickness. It comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader for easy unlocking. Although not head-turning in a high-end way, the build is practical and sufficiently solid for everyday use. It is solid in hand, which is something for the price.

Display: Big With Restrictions

It has a 6.74-inch LCD with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. The screen is awesome to watch videos on and scroll, but it is disheartening to experience at the resolution of 260ppi. But eye care features such as TÜV Low Blue Light certification, Dark Mode, and Eye Protection offset the disappointment somewhat. It has a smooth 90Hz scrolling, an added advantage.

Camera: Bare-Bones Setup

Vivo Y19 5G has a dual camera module with a 13MP main sensor and a 0.08MP supporting sensor. It features a 5MP sensor on the front. Both will deliver mid-range performance under good lighting conditions, but are weaker under low-light or dynamic range situations. Video recording is present at 1080p @ 30fps only, as usual in this category.

Performance: Entry-Level 5G Power

Driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip with an octa-core 2.4GHz processor, the phone gives satisfactory daily usage. It’s coupled with 4GB physical RAM and an extra 4GB virtual RAM. Everyday activities such as social media, calls, and minimal gaming are just fine. Heavy gaming is not what it is designed for, but it would not disappoint under everyday usage.

Storage and Expandability: Suitable for the Price

The internal storage is 128GB, which is excellent. What is nice here is the dedicated microSD card slot with support up to 2TB expansion. That is a big plus for media hoarders or individuals who take a lot of photos and videos.

Battery and Charging: Long-Lasting but Slow Charging

One of Vivo Y19 5G’s strongest selling points is its battery, a gigantic 5500mAh one that easily lasts a day even under heavy usage. It also has fast charging at 15W and even reverse charging. At 15W, it may not be as blisteringly fast according to today’s standards, but in the budget segment, it is acceptable.

Verdict: A Balanced Budget 5G Phone

Vivo Y19 5G is not designed to impress heavy users, but does a rather good job providing an overall performance for its price. With the addition of 5G support, good performance, expandable storage, and a massive battery, it checks all the boxes of need. It is perfect for customers who are ready to compromise on much but want reliability and long life.
