Samsung Z Fold 7 and Flip 7: Samsung is gearing up to introduce its new foldable smartphones the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7  and recent leaks indicate that production has already started. The new handsets are said to replace the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, with considerable differences in design, performance, and hardware hinted through leaks and certifications.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

Galaxy Z Fold 7 is predicted to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 from the previous generation. The phone will be slimmer than its predecessor, coming in at only 8.22mm folded, down from the 12.1mm of the Fold 6. Battery details have leaked through UL Solutions Demko certification, and these include model numbers EB-BF966ABE and EB-BF967ABE, together providing a combined capacity of 4,272mAh. This is a slight dip from the 4,400mAh of Fold 6. The phone should again come with 25W fast charging. Rumors also indicate it might have a 200MP primary camera, a lesser noticeable display crease, and a more refined hinge mechanism.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7

Compared to the Fold 7, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could be driven by Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 chipset. Certification listings indicate battery models EB-BF766ABE and EB-BF767ABE, with a total capacity of 4,174mAh, a slight bump from the Flip 6’s 4,000mAh battery. The phone is also reported to feature a bigger 4-inch cover screen and the same 25W fast charging. Although previous leaks suggested a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, recent news confirms the Exynos switch. This clamshell foldable is marketed as an improved version with better internals and software tweaks.

Production and Launch Timeline

Samsung has officially begun mass production of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The manufacturer is targeting production of two million units of Fold 7 and three million units of Flip 7 – 40 percent less than last year. This is apparently because sales of the prior generation were lackluster. Even with lowered targets, Samsung appears determined to continue its dominance of the foldable market with a targeted product strategy.

Software and Certification Details

Both devices are said to ship with One UI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box. UL Solutions Demko certification listings confirm the battery configurations, while a different 3C certification indicates 25W fast charging support for both phones. These details are consistent with earlier reports of the phones launching at Samsung’s Unpacked event in the US in early July.
