Galaxy Z Fold 7 is remarkable for its slimmer and lighter design. When folded, it is just 8.9mm thick, a dramatic reduction compared to the 12.1mm of Fold 6. Unfolded, it is just 4.2mm thick. The internal screen now has a layer of titanium plates, making it lighter, more powerful, and thinner without compromising on quality. Although display specifications are largely unchanged, there is a slight improvement in resolution that enhances clarity.
Performance Boost with Snapdragon 8 Elite
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is driven by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The 3nm chip delivers 45% greater speed and power efficiency than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in the Fold 6. As such, the user can expect improved gaming, video editing, and multitasking performance, together with increased battery life. The processor also positions the Fold 7 as one of the fastest foldables of 2025.
Improved Camera System for Improved Photography
Samsung has finally brought its best camera system to its foldables. The Fold 7 now has a 200MP primary camera, the same sensor found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, coupled with a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It also has a 10MP selfie camera with a punch-hole cutout and another 10MP camera on the cover screen. All the cameras are 4K video recording-capable, and the primary sensor can record up to 8K.
