Pricing Details Indicate Budget Positioning

As per a report by Ytechb, the Redmi Pad 2 will be available in two models. The entry-level model with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage may have a price tag of EUR 229 (approximately ₹22,000), whereas the high-end model with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage may have a price tag of EUR 279 (approximately ₹26,000). This price keeps the tablet in the budget segment, and thus it is a viable option for students and entertainment users alike. The design presented in the renders appears to be similar to the original Redmi Pad with thick bezels and a clean pill-shaped rear camera module.

Design Elements Remain Familiar but Practical

The spilled images indicate Redmi is sticking to its no-frills and functional design philosophy. The tablet seems to be available in a graphite gray color with the power button located at the top right, volume buttons on the right side, and speaker grille at the bottom section along with a USB Type-C port and surprisingly, a 3.5mm headphone jack something that’s not common with newer tablets but welcome for users who are still using wired audio.

Specifications Reveal Upgrades Across the Board

Redmi Pad 2 is tipped to feature an 11-inch LCD with a crisp 2.5K resolution (1600×2500 pixels) and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It may be powered by a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra chipset, a step up from the G99 found in its predecessor. The device is also expected to run Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2.1 for an updated user interface and smoother multitasking. On the camera side, an 8MP AI rear sensor and a 5MP front camera should be enough for video calls and everyday photography.

Battery and Audio Deliver Sturdy Multimedia Support

One of the highlights of the new tablet is its massive 9,000mAh battery, which might provide prolonged usage on a single charge, ideal for binge-watchers or online students. The tablet will probably be capable of fast charging via 18W. It’s also rumored to come with quad speakers supporting Dolby Atmos for an intense audio experience, making it a unique player in the entry-level tablet market.

Verdict: A Solid Budget Upgrade Over Its Predecessor

With a bigger screen, improved chip, larger battery, and decent audio capabilities, the Redmi Pad 2 appears to be checking all the right boxes for an affordable entertainment tablet. If Xiaomi can keep the price point for launch in India, it could be a great value for consumers looking for an affordable but effective multimedia device in 2025.
