Realme GT 8: This time Realme is going to change its old strategy completely. In October 2025, the company is going to launch two flagship smartphones simultaneously – GT 8 and GT 8 Pro. Till now Realme has been in the habit of launching the Pro model first, then the base variant comes after several months. But this time Realme has reset its game thinking that both variants will be launched simultaneously, and both will get the same powerful processor – i.e. Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
A Shared Heart: The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2
Both GT 8 and GT 8 Pro smartphones will be given Qualcomm’s next generation processor Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850). This chipset is not only fast, but the power of CPU and GPU in it has also increased significantly. If the leaks are to be believed, its AnTuTu scores will be about 26% more than the previous version.
The most important thing is that Realme has given this chipset not only in the Pro variant, but also in GT 8 i.e. the base variant. This clearly means that Realme is no longer compromising on performance. Now the difference will be seen in other aspects like camera, battery and display, not in speed.
The Pro Variant: Battery, Display, and Camera Ambitions
The GT 8 Pro is coming out as a powerful flagship. It will get a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung OLED display with AR anti-glare coating, which will give it a premium feel like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The battery is also great – 100W fast charging and 65W wireless support can be available with a capacity of up to 7,000 to 8,000mAh.
The camera will have a 200MP periscope lens, which could be a Samsung HP9 sensor – that is, both zoom and detail will be top class.
With a metal body, IP69 rating and Android 16 based Realme UI 7, this phone is going to give a direct competition to OnePlus 15, Xiaomi 16 Pro and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The Standard GT 8: Performance Packed, Details Pending
There are not many details about the GT 8 yet, but it is clear that it will also get the same Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, which means the performance will be tremendous.
The display can be around 6.5 inches AMOLED, with 144Hz refresh rate, but may not get high resolution like Pro.
The battery can be between 5,000 to 6,000mAh and it can see fast charging up to 200W.
There is only speculation about the camera at the moment that it can have a 50MP main sensor and an ultrawide lens.
Pricing Outlook: Flagship Value
Now the biggest thing – price. Leaks suggest that the GT 8 Pro will be priced around €649 in Europe, i.e. around ₹60,000 to ₹65,999 in India. The price of GT 8 is being said to be around €499, i.e. around ₹50,000.
This means that Realme is offering a flagship-feeling phone at a price that is much lower than other brands. And when both phones have the same processor, the only difference will be in the camera, battery and build – which will not matter much to many users.
Why Strategy Shift Matters
In the GT 6 and GT 7 series, the Pro model was always launched first, then the base variant came after several months. Because of this, people either had to spend more money or compromise with old technology. But now Realme has taken a very smart move with the GT 8 series.
By launching both variants simultaneously, the company is giving full choice to the users – without compromising on any performance. This strategy will not only take Realme ahead in the flagship market, but other companies will also have to change their tactics.
Market Implications
If these leaks turn out to be true, then the 200MP camera and 7,000mAh battery of the GT 8 Pro are going to create a stir in the mobile industry. These are features that were only available in high-end phones till now. And even in base variants like the GT 8, such a powerful processor is being available that other companies will be forced to give strong specifications in their mid-range phones as well.
Now the difference will be only in the camera and material – and these things will decide whether you want to buy the Pro or the base variant. It also shows that now Realme’s manufacturing and supply chain has become so strong that it can launch both flagships simultaneously all over the world – which has never happened before.
Looking Ahead to October
Now we are waiting for October. Will both the phones really be launched together in India? Will there be any special technology in the AMOLED display? And will Realme also bring any special AI or smart feature that will give extra fun with Android 16?
As October approaches, official teasers, specifications and launch details will slowly emerge. But if all these leaks are true, then one thing is certain – Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro will be counted among the most explosive flagship smartphones of this year.
