Pixel 10 design and camera: Google appears to be following the trend of announcing Pixel designs before launch, and this time around, it’s the Pixel 10. A fresh teaser on the Google official e-store reveals the back of the phone, and as expected, it also retains the design of the Pixel 9 series. But the largest surprise is in the camera module, where it seems to come with a triple-lens arrangement and periscope telephoto sensor. If this lens is included on the base Pixel 10 model, this would be a significant change in how Google is going about things.

Triple Camera Design Could Feature Telephoto Lens
The brief 13-second teaser indicates the numeral “10” in addition to a tidy exposure of the Pixel 10’s back, which appears nearly indistinguishable from that of its ancestor. The color indicated is a subdued blue-grey finish, presumably the leaked “Frost” color option. Some of the leaked alternatives are Obsidian, Indigo, and Limoncello. The look decidedly plays it safe, but the latest camera set makes things interesting, particularly the third rectangular lens, which highly implies telephoto ability.
Base Pixel 10 May Receive a Big Zoom Overhaul
It’s not officially clear yet if the model shown in the teaser is indeed the Pixel 10 or 10 Pro. But Android Headlines suggests that the base model will feature a telephoto camera for the first time. That’s big news, given that Google typically reserves such a feature for the Pro variants. The additional rectangular sensor and a secondary module (possibly a temperature sensor) align with what we’ve seen in the Pixel 9 Pro, making it tough to pinpoint which model we’re looking at in the teaser.
Improved Portraits and Zoom for the Base Variant
If the base Pixel 10 does contain a telephoto lens, it will greatly improve zoom shots and portrait photography. Our Pixel 9 review from the previous year determined that the portrait output was unimpressive, largely because there was no dedicated zoom lens. Adding this capability to the base model immediately gives it more imaging capabilities, making it potentially the most comprehensive standard Pixel yet.
India Launch with Exclusive Offers
Google has also announced that the Pixel 10 Pro will go on sale in India on August 21. Consumers can pre-register at the retail store for updates, and those pre-registering before August 19 at 12:30 PM IST will get an exclusive launch offer via email. This indicates Google’s continued emphasis on expanding its footprint in the Indian premium smartphone segment.
A Value Champion in the Making
If the lower-end Pixel 10 packs a telephoto lens and the latest 3nm TSMC-fabricated Tensor G5 chip, it might become the sweet spot of the Pixel family. With enhanced battery life, thermal performance, and camera capabilities, consumers may no longer need to upgrade to the Pro model. Google’s aesthetic is playing it conservative, but feature-wise, the Pixel 10 is proving to be a clever and well-balanced refinement
