Re-entry of OPPO into the Tablet Market
Initially introduced in China last May, the OPPO Pad SE features an 11-inch FHD+ IPS screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness, and TUV Rheinland certification for protective eye care. The screen-to-body ratio is 85.3 percent. OPPO has also implemented a Smart Power Saving Mode, which turns off the device after 7 days of idle time, with a claimed standby battery life of up to 800 days.
Performance and Hardware Improvements
Internally, the tablet is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 6nm chip with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It is equipped with two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, which give a harmonious performance for regular work. In contrast, the previous OPPO Pad Air was powered by Snapdragon 680. The Pad SE is available in three versions: 4GB + 128GB (Wi-Fi), 6GB + 128GB (LTE), and 8GB + 128GB (LTE), offering convenience in connectivity and storage.
Software and Smart Features
Boot-running ColorOS 15.1, which is based on Android 15, the OPPO Pad SE is supported by a variety of smart features such as Google Gemini integration, AI Intelligent Document tools for summarization and translation, and iOS-compatible sharing of files. It also has a separate Kids Mode with screen time and app access parental control. These features render it fit for both productivity and family use.
Camera and Connectivity Options
It’s equipped with a 5MP rear and 5MP front camera, with features such as AI Eraser, Photo Remaster, AI Clarity Enhancer, and Reflection Removal. It may be a step backward from the 8MP rear camera of the Pad Air, but it still provides sufficient basic photography and video calling capabilities. Connectivity options include optional 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB Type-C.
Battery and Charging Boost
One of the high points is the humongous 9,340mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. This is a huge leap from the Pad Air’s 7,100mAh and 18W configuration. OPPO is promising as much as 11 hours of video playback and 80 hours of music playback, and hence, the device is well-suited as an entertainment tool.
Competitive Pricing and Market Competitors
The OPPO Pad SE is priced at Rs 13,999 for the Wi-Fi variant and Rs 16,999 for the LTE model. The customer will also receive a discount of Rs 1,000 in the first sale. It competes with the likes of the Redmi Pad 2 and Lenovo Tab M11 at this price, providing good performance, a big screen, and decent battery life in the sub-₹20,000 category.
