200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera in Sight
According to a leak put out by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will be replacing the 50MP telephoto lens on the X8 Ultra with a massive 200MP periscope telephoto sensor. That’s a massive resolution upgrade, and if so, the camera performance of the X9 Ultra will be light-years ahead of all others.
Zoom Range Extended to 10x Optical
While the leak does mention that the other 50MP telephoto lens may stay the same resolution-wise, it is said to be getting a functional update. The new model will reportedly be able to handle a 10x optical zoom range, which is greater than the 6x zoom that the X8 Ultra can handle. This added zoom capacity would likely give the Find X9 Ultra a gigantic edge when it comes to mobile photography.
Find X9 Pro May Take a Different Route
Incidentally, it’s not just the Ultra model that’s drawing headlines. Previous rumors suggest that the Oppo Find X9 Pro may ditch the dual periscope arrangement in favor of a single 200MP high-resolution periscope module. This change implies that Oppo may be experimenting with various setups in the X9 lineup to appeal to a wider customer base.
A New Lineup Strategy to Compete with iPhones
We also have credible rumors that Oppo would introduce four models to the Find X9 lineup the X9, X9 Plus, X9 Pro, and X9 Ultra. This lineup is comparable to Apple’s iPhone series and could be an attempt to go head-to-head with the iPhone 17, 17 Plus, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. Each model of the Find X9 should cater to a different group of buyers with a shared design language and feature set.
Display and Processor Leaks Give More Insight
All four versions of Find X9 are set to feature flat screens, though the vanilla X9 will have the smallest, measuring around 6.3 inches. Most of the series, including the Pro and version, will supposedly be powered by MediaTek’s brand-new Dimensity 9500 chip. The X9 Ultra, however, is set to utilize Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset to deliver maximum horsepower.
Launch Timeline Remains Inconsistent
While the subject of most of the hype is the Ultra model, it will not be coming before 2026. The rest of the Find X9 lineup, though, could show up as early as October or November this year, possibly following the official release of the Dimensity 9500 chip. With that in mind, enthusiasts will have to live on speculation and leaks until a better picture emerges.
