Compact Yet Immersive Display
The Meizu 22 will have a 6.32-inch screen, which the manufacturer refers to as the golden balance between being compact and high-immersive viewing. This makes the handset perfect for those who prefer a handleable form factor without being at the expense of media and gaming experiences. The design of the screen also features a 2.5D subtle curve on the front side, adding to the looks while not sacrificing usability.
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Power with Gaming Optimizations
At its heart, the Meizu 22 features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform, tuned for optimum gaming stability. To provide continued smoothness, Meizu has added its AI-driven One Mind optimization engines, in addition to TÜV Rheinland’s 72-month fluency certification, which delivers continued smooth performance for years. The phone also has an S-grade rating for gaming smoothness, which reinforces its competitive gaming ambitions.
For long-term efficiency, the phone boasts a 4,500mm² vapour chamber cooling system, which happens to be one of the biggest in its class. With this cooling solution, the heat dissipation is improved, and the phone can deliver premium performance even through marathon gaming.
Triple 50MP Camera Setup with AI Imaging
Photography is another area of strength for the Meizu 22. The phone has a 50MP OmniVision OV50D front camera for video calls and selfies. At the back, the triple-camera setup comprises a 50MP OmniVision OV50H primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens with OIS, and a 50MP OmniVision OV50D ultra-wide-angle camera. This multi-talented configuration enables users to take detailed photos from various angles.
At the software end, AI imaging features such as one-click filter extraction allow instant creative editing, providing users with unique visuals without needing third-party apps.
Sleek and Symmetrical Design
The Meizu 22 is just 190 grams light and measures 8.15mm thick with a width of 71mm, making it easy to grip. It offers a floating back cover design coupled with a 3D curved rear panel, blending looks and grip. The bezels are only 0.8mm on all sides, ensuring an incredibly symmetrical design. Particularly worth mentioning is the fact that the Meizu 22 is the sole flagship to boast white bezels, which makes it stand out visually in a saturated flagship market.
Verdict: A Flagship with Unique Identity
The Meizu 22 combines strong hardware with striking design decisions, such as its small screen, enhanced cooling, and every-50MP camera equipment. While most brands pursue sheer specs, Meizu’s attention to balance, comfort, and long-term performance may place it at a prime spot in the 2025 flagship lineup. With just days remaining until the official release, all eyes turn now to Zhuhai to ascertain whether the Meizu 22 fulfills its aggressive hype.
