MediaTek Dimensity 9500: MediaTek has officially launched the Dimensity 9500, the most powerful smartphone chipset from the company so far. Optimized for performance and efficiency, this new chip will arrive on the new Oppo Find X9 series and Vivo X300 lineup later this year. With major improvements in CPU, GPU, and AI performance, the Dimensity 9500 will target Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon processors in the flagship category.

CPU Architecture and Performance Gains
The core of the Dimensity 9500 is MediaTek’s third-generation CPU structure, which is entirely based on performance cores. The configuration consists of a flagship ultra core running at 4.21GHz, offering up to 32 percent improved single-core performance and 17 percent improved multi-core performance over its previous generation, the Dimensity 9400.
One of the most impressive MediaTek claims is the 55 percent power saving at peak performance, enabling phones to perform at high speeds without draining the battery too soon. This architecture also brings four-lane UFS 4.1 storage, providing faster data access and glitch-free multitasking across apps.
Graphics Upgrade for Gamers
For gamers, the Dimensity 9500 comes equipped with the new Arm G1-Ultra GPU, which provides a 33 percent boost in peak performance and 42 percent improved power efficiency compared to the last generation. The GPU also introduces support for 120FPS ray tracing, providing more realistic lighting and reflections in compatible games.
In addition, MediaTek emphasizes cooperation with Unreal Engine 5.6’s MegaLights and Unreal Engine 5.5’s Nanite, which are features intended to advance the graphical capabilities of gaming on mobile to console levels. The Dimensity 9500 is, therefore, among the most powerful chipsets in 2025 for gaming performance.
AI Capabilities with Generative AI Engine 2.0
AI is another field in which MediaTek is breaking new ground. The Dimensity 9500 has a ninth-generation NPU 990 with the Generative AI Engine 2.0. This enables the processing of large language models (LLMs) of up to 3 billion parameters, processing long text of up to 128K-tokens, and even generating 4K ultra-high-definition images.
As MediaTek reports, these enhancements result in AI work being 100 percent faster with up to 56 percent less power consumption. Even when running 1.58-bit BitNet models, power consumption is cut by 33 percent, providing smoother AI-powered experiences such as real-time translation, smart assistants, and heavy-duty photo editing.
Anticipated Launch and Market Influence
MediaTek has officially revealed that Dimensity 9500-driven devices will hit the market in Q4 2025, beginning with the Oppo Find X9 series and Vivo X300 series. With its high-performance CPU, cutting-edge GPU, and power-saving AI engine, the chipset makes a strong contender in the premium segment of smartphones.
For consumers, that translates to longer battery life, quicker multitasking, improved gaming graphics, and more intelligent AI experiences. As the rivalry between MediaTek and Qualcomm picks up steam, the Dimensity 9500 may reset what consumers will look for in a 2025 flagship phone.
