Huawei Pura 80: Huawei globally launched its new flagship smartphone series, the Pura 80 Series, in Dubai, UAE on 10 July 2025. The event was not just a launch but a statement that Huawei still maintains its strong presence in the premium smartphone market – especially when it comes to photography, AI, and design. Let’s understand in Desi style what all amazing things Huawei has introduced this time.
Which Models in the Pura 80 Series have come to the market?
Globally, Huawei has launched three models – Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, and Pura 80 Ultra. The focus of these teeno phones is on high-end photography and AI experience. For those who want powerful performance along with style, these phones can be a perfect fit.
A new gift for camera lovers
Huawei has already been quite famous in the field of photography, and the Pura 80 Series has taken this legacy further. In Pura 80 Pro, you get a 1-inch Ultra Lighting Camera, whose job is to capture every detail even in low-light situations. Apart from this, an Ultra Chroma Camera has also been given, which is expert in giving natural and realistic colors.
If we talk about the most powerful model Pura 80 Ultra, then photography lovers get a full-on cinematic experience in it. This phone has a Switchable Dual Telephoto Camera, in which you get two different focal lengths – one with 3.7x and the other with 10x zoom. Meaning whether you are far or near, every shot will be of cinematic quality. Along with this, you also get variable aperture wide lens which automatically adjusts according to the lighting. This camera setup is like a dream for those people who want to do professional-level photography with their phone.
Design that will make every sight stand out
Huawei has also given full focus on design this time. Pura 80 Ultra and Glazed Red Pura 80 Pro feature a “Dazzling Forward Symbol” design inspired by the rays of the sun. A golden ring surrounds the camera lens of the Ultra model, giving the phone a classy and premium look. This design not only looks beautiful but is also a statement that Huawei brings innovation and luxury together.
AI Features That Make the Phone Even Smarter
Huawei has shown new thinking not just in hardware but also in AI. In this phone, you get an AI Smart Controls Button that you can customize. Be it turning on the flashlight, opening the camera or activating the AI lens – everything happens in just one tap.
For calls, AI Noise Cancellation has been provided, which removes background noise from both sides and gives a crystal clear voice. And for privacy, there is AI Messaging, which hides the notifications coming on the screen when someone else is looking at your phone. Apart from this, this AI system also shows you real-time wearable info on the screen. This makes the use of AI both practical and smart.
Battery and Charging
Huawei has given 5170mAh battery in Pura 80 Pro and Pura 80 Ultra, which is more than enough for full-day usage. But the biggest thing is its charging system – it supports 100W wired Huawei SuperCharge, which fully charges the phone in just a few minutes. And 80W fast wireless charging has also been given for wireless – which is very rare in the market at this time. The Chinese version also has a 5700mAh battery, but the global version is a little lighter in it.
Strength and Durability
Huawei has left no stone unturned in making the phone tough. 2nd-gen Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass has been used which makes the phone 16x more scratch resistant and 25% more drop-proof. Along with this, you get IP68/IP69 rating, that is, protection from both water and dust. So whether it is weather or accident, the phone will remain protected.
Software and Connectivity
Huawei’s global models run on EMUI 15, which is based on Android. But remember, it does not support Google services, but Huawei’s own ecosystem is quite advanced. Compared to the Chinese version, the global model is missing some things – like 5G and satellite communication. The global version is limited to only 4G LTE, which can be a little compromise for some users.
Price and Availability
If we talk about the price, the Pura 80 Pro is priced at €1099 (₹1,10,130 approx.) for the 12GB + 512GB variant. You will find this model in Glazed Red, Glazed White and Glazed Black colours. The global price of the Pura 80 Ultra is €1499 (₹1,50,220 approx.) for the 16GB + 512GB variant. Its price in UAE is AED 5,100, which is approximately $1,400. Prestige Gold and Golden Black colors are available in this model.
The launch of the base model Huawei Pura 80 will be a little late, and its expected price in India can be around ₹69,990.
