Huawei Mate X7: Huawei is soon going to launch its new premium foldable smartphone, Huawei Mate X7, in the market. Although the launch date is not yet official, but if leaked reports are to be believed, this device can knock by the end of 2025. Compared to the Mate X6 that came last year, this time a lot of upgrades are expected in terms of screen and camera. Let’s know what has been revealed about this phone so far.
Big and powerful display technology
In the leak that has come out regarding the screen size of Huawei Mate X7, it is being said that this time users will get a large 8.02-inch OLED foldable display. This is slightly larger than the 7.93 inches of Mate X6, but this size is also going to have a tremendous advantage—120Hz refresh rate. This will mean smooth scrolling and fluid video playback.
Talking about the resolution, the screen will look quite sharp and clear with a density of 2240 x 2440 pixels and 418 ppi. The cover screen on the outside will also be 6.45 inches and will come with a resolution of 1080 x 2440 pixels. This will be an LTPO OLED panel, which is expected to have HDR support and a peak brightness of 2500 nits. That is, the screen can be read easily even in sunlight.
Huawei can also introduce something new regarding durability in the design. Features like Kunlun Glass protection and IPX8 rating will protect the phone from water and dust. IPX8 means that the phone can remain safe for 30 minutes even at a depth of 2 meters, which is a big deal for foldable phones.
Huawei’s dominance will also be seen in the camera
Huawei has always been one step ahead of other brands in terms of camera, and the same will be seen in Mate X7. According to the leaked information, this time there will be a 50MP triple rear camera setup. It will have a wide angle main camera which will perform very well in low light and detail.
The second camera can be a 50MP telephoto lens, which can give 3.5x or 5x optical zoom. Huawei often uses periscope lenses, which maintains clarity in zoom. The third camera will be an ultra-wide angle lens which will be great for group photos or landscapes.
Two cameras are also expected in the front – an 8MP camera on the outside display and an 8MP wide-angle camera on the inside screen.
Huawei’s AI based image processing technology will also be seen in Mate X7, which will make photo editing, portrait and night mode even smarter.
Great setup in performance, battery and connectivity too
Huawei Mate X7 may have the company’s new Kirin processor – probably Kirin 9500S or Kirin 9030. This chipset will be built on a 7nm process, which will be considered a big win for Huawei despite the strict ban so far.
The battery is expected to have a capacity of 5,110mAh to 5,500mAh. It can also come with 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging, which will reduce the charging time significantly.
The phone will run on HarmonyOS 5 and will also have Huawei’s special satellite connectivity – making messaging and calling possible even in remote places. This feature has been seen in some Huawei flagships before and now it will be very interesting to see it in a foldable.
