Google Pixel 9a: Google launched the Pixel 9A smartphone in India last month, which was the successor of last year’s Pixel 8A. It packs several reforms such as a large and bright performance, Teenser G4, the same chip that strengthens the Pixel 9, 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL, and also has the largest 5100mAh battery. Here we have the first impression of the phone.

Display

One of the major highlights of Pixel 9A is its 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED screen that now claims a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming. It is an upgrade on the 6.1-inch display found in Pixel 8A, and the increased shape has been paired with a significant improvement in brightness. The Pixel 9A 2700 provides a peak glow of knots, which is 35% bright compared to its predecessor, which ensures excellent visibility in direct sunlight. The angles of view are also impressive, and the performance is preserved by the Gorilla Glass 3 for durability.

Design and Build Quality

The design of Pixel 9A has led to some changes compared to Pixel 8A. The phone now has a flat metal frame, which is the place of curved design seen in the earlier model. The back camera setup is flush with the body, which eliminates the first seen metal camera bar. The device comes in two color variants: Osidian and The New Iris and Porcelain shades. In particular, the porcelain does not show fingerprints in the color version, maintaining a clean -south form.

While Pixel 9A has a bezel below slightly larger than Pixel 9, it is smaller than Pixel 8A. However, the side bezels are thick to match the bezel below, making a more uniform design. The ESIM support for the second SIM and USB Type-C ports completes the connectivity options of the phone.

Performance

Google Tensor G4 chip provides power to Pixel 9A, which provides excellent performance for a mid-range device. Added with 8GB RAM, the phone runs smoothly through day-to-day functions. However, it can be warm during intensive gaming sessions, much like pixel 9. The Titan M2 security chip provides increased protection, while keeping your data safe. The device runs on Android 15, and Google promises a 7-year pixel feature drop and safety update, ensuring that the phone remains up-to-date with the latest features.

Camera

The Pixel 9A is equipped with a 48MP rear camera with a f/1.7 aperture and OIS, which makes it capable of capturing stunning shots even in low-light situations. The secondary 13MP ultra-wide camera with a view of 120 ° allows for broad shots, allowing it to be perfect for landscape and group photographs. The phone also supports 4K video recording up to 60fps, giving users the ability to capture high quality videos.

For selfie lovers, the front camera retains the 13MP sensor that can shoot 4K videos, and it is placed within a center punch-hal display. The top bezel also acts as a secondary speaker, providing better sound quality while watching the video.

Battery life and charging

Pixel 9A is equipped with a huge 5100mAh battery, which provides enough power for an entire day of use. This supports 23W fast charging, allowing you to quickly up your device. In addition, the phone supports 7.5W wireless charging, providing flexibility when it comes to charging. With better battery capacity, users can expect a great battery life compared to Pixel 8A.

IP68 Water resistance and other features

Pixel 9A comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, an upgrade from the IP67 rating of the previous model, ensuring that the phone can withstand water splatter and dust. The device also includes several useful software features such as magic eraser, night site, astrophotography, and new panorama, which are accompanied by night vision for enhanced photo abilities. However, it lacks features such as pixel screenshot features and call notes that are available on the high-end Pixel 9 model.

Pricing and availability

The price of Pixel 9A is ₹ 49,999 (MRP) for 256GB model, which is ₹ 10,000 cheaper than the launch price of Pixel 8A. This phone will be available for purchasing on Flipkart starting from April 16, in which additional Off 3,000 banks are available for users.
