BSNL’s Quantum 5G Service: If you have heard that BSNL has launched its 5G service and you are thinking that now you will also get a SIM with 5G speed, then wait a bit! Because this 5G service of BSNL is not what you are thinking. Actually, the name of this new service is Quantum 5G, which the company has also called Q-5G in short. But it is not just about high speed internet, but the whole technology and its use.

This Quantum 5G service of BSNL is being called the country’s first 5G Fixed Wireless Access i.e. FWA service. This is a completely new concept and for the first time in India a company has introduced it to the public. But this service is not for everyone, and it does not even require a SIM card or mobile network.

Quantum 5G FWA 

If you think that Quantum 5G means that your phone will start working on 5G, then it is not so. This service is completely different and it has been specially designed for Fixed Wireless Access. Meaning, it is a SIM-less and wireless internet service, which gives high-speed internet connectivity like fiber to the users through 5G technology.

Now you will think that when there is broadband, then what is the need for this? Actually, there are many remote areas in the country where laying fiber cable is very difficult – hilly areas, forests, industrial zones or newly developing rural areas. Quantum 5G FWA will be useful there, because it does not require any wire or SIM. Just install the device and get fast internet.

Who is this service for?

Now the most important thing – can you avail this service? So the answer is – not yet. BSNL has not started this service for the general public at the moment. Currently this Quantum 5G service is available only for business and enterprise users.

That is, if you are working in an office, industrial unit, factory or corporate setup and you need high speed internet, then this new service of BSNL is of use to you.

BSNL is not launching this service for homes i.e. for common consumers right now, but it is likely that it will be expanded gradually and retail users will also get its benefit in the coming time.

What is the price of BSNL Quantum 5G?

Now talking about the price of this 5G FWA service, BSNL has started it from ₹ 999 per month. At this price, the user will get only data service – i.e. internet access. But keep in mind, you will not get the facility of voice calling in it.

That is, if you only need high speed internet and you use mobile or other service for calling, then this option can be a great option for you.

One special thing is that this Quantum 5G service of BSNL is completely based on indigenous technology, that is, it has been prepared under ‘Make in India’ and it is being considered a big step towards India’s technological self-reliance.

Will this service be available all over India?

At present, this service has been started in some selected BSNL circles. The company has not yet implemented it in all states or cities. But as the trend has been seen, if this service is successful and business users like it, then very soon it can be started for common people across the country.
