AI+ Confirms Dimensity 7100 Powered Phone for India Launch
AI+ has basically confirmed launching India’s first MediaTek Dimensity 7100-powered handset, and it looks like they are aiming for the kinda competitive sub-₹25,000.

The Indian smartphone market is about to get a pretty big shakeup, especially in that budget-to-mid-range area. AI+ has basically confirmed it will be one of the very first brands to push a smartphone into India that’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor.
This came straight from AI+ CEO Madhav Sheth, in a post on X (formerly Twitter). In the teaser, Sheth also invited tech influencers to the brand’s office, so they could benchmark and test how the chipset behaves before the official launch.
Now, the post didn’t clearly spell out the exact device name, but the brand’s current lineup timing makes it seem pretty likely it’s pointing to two next-up models. Basically either the more performance-focused AI+ Nova 2 Pro 5G, or the cheaper / more budget friendly AI+ Nova 2 Neo 5G.

MediaTek Dimensity 7100 Chipset
MediaTek sort of quietly rolled out the Dimensity 7100 earlier this year, and yes it’s positioned as the direct follow-up to the very popular Dimensity 7050. It’s made using TSMC’s power-friendly 6nm process, and inside you get an octa-core setup with four “big” ARM Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.4 GHz, plus another four efficiency-minded Cortex-A55 cores that sit at 2.0 GHz. For visuals, the chip uses a refreshed ARM Mali-G610 MC2 GPU, and it claims as much as about an 8% jump in gaming performance versus the prior generation.
Even with all that, the Dimensity 7100 is still a pretty strong mid-range chipset with support for premium stuff like 200 MP camera sensors, LPDDR5 memory, and quick UFS 3.1 storage, yet most global smartphone brands have mostly side stepped it over the last few months. Part of the reason seems pretty blunt: costs are climbing, especially for memory and RAM, so manufacturers end up either sticking to simpler lower-tier silicon such as the Dimensity 6300, or moving up to the more expensive Dimensity 7300 series. Now, AI+’s upcoming launch is set to signal a more serious change in direction—trying to bring this exact architecture to mainstream buyers instead.

Expected Launch and Impact on the Market
The Dimensity 7100 chip brings along a pretty advanced 3GPP Release-16 5G modem, with MediaTek’s 5G UltraSave 3.0+ tech onboard, and it claims as much as 23% better cellular power efficiency. It also says you’ll see around a 16% lower battery drain when you’re doing heavy multimedia playback , which is kinda the point. On top of that, there are the connectivity upgrades too, like Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, plus longer-range direct phone-to-phone Bluetooth communication, that’s a mouthful but hey it’s there.

As of now, an official launch date ,and the final pricing details are still not shared. However, the fact that public active testing has already started suggests the announcement is basically coming soon. Also, since recent value oriented launches like the AI+ Nova 2 Ultra , and the customizable RGB lit Nova 2 5G have been quite aggressive in how they’re priced, analysts think the next Dimensity 7100 handsets should land with equally sharp pricing. The expectation is you’ll see them listed on platforms like Flipkart aiming directly at that super busy sub-Rs. 25,000 bracket in India.
